it controls the emission, be it from the gas tank or the BPT i dunno, not enough info.

I had one of those on my engine. I was told it was really rare.........I took it off and threw it away.

i got that on my 180 too .. but some lines have been blocked off and other added..wtf.. i just told myself to leave it as is

Its either the pressure regulator control solenoid valve or the S.C.V. control solenoid valve, not sure which one, but check page "EF & EC-14" of at least the 89 service manual and it'll tell you what it is and what they do, clearly if people have plugged them up they must not be that important...
