What is this for...

When you floor the 3.5 (maybe the 2.5, im not sure) at the end of the push there is a like a "click" on the pedal. What is that for? I've never had a car that did that...

every car ive ever driven with an electronic throttle has that same click, but i have no idea what it is

Is this the cvt?

Could it be a kick down button, which makes the transmission downshift and stay in a lower gear longer?

yup, definiatly the kickdown switch. It pulls the car into the most powerful gear at that speed and takes it to redline before shifting into the next gear.

Does this have any effect on the CVT? The CVT doesn't have gears, so does this make it push for redline faster?

CVT has infinite gears but it what its really doing is acting as if its in a lower gear.
