if you mean the little black box it is called aiv ( am pretty sure, someone correct me if am wrong) and what it does is send fresh air into your exhaust system to reduce pollution and improve the reliability of the catalityc converter. most people take it off but i didn't someone did'nt recomend me to, they say their car didn't run the same, but if you want to im pretty sure someone will come up and tell you how to do it.

and by the hit the search button there are millions and millions of htreads on this you just have to look for them!!!!!

thats just a heat shield, its to keep radiant heat closer to the manifold so it doenst damage ur other stuff, or heat up the brake/ clutch mastercylinders... cracks in those is normal, u dont have to replace anything, unless maybe it starts falling apart.
