Hey guys,I can potentially purchase this car really cheap. I have a mint 95 240sx that i would swap the blacktop in but I need to know what this SR is missing. Keep in mind it was involved in a car accident so it was running at the time.

Its in a 97 240sx.... what year SR motor is it ? What is it missing or what is wrong with it ? besides IC

Can't tell what year model the motor is without checking out the ECU, but it's definately an S14 SR.

fan shroud and maybe some belts..lol.. dude get some more detailed pics. it kinda really hard to see. from what i can see a new radiator support and front bumper shoudl take care of it . + the IC and radiator.

I'll agree, it looks like the intercooler, radiator and radiator hoses are gone. Everything else looks complete. It definately is an SR from an S14.

Couldn't it also (although unlikely) be an S15 SR? The Notchtop was for both, right? I guess easy way to tell is to check the shift pattern...

True, I forgot about that. I wouldn't know how to differentiate the two either. He'll just have to see if it's 6 speed.

Yup got the notch top in it.Checl to see how many gears you got. He's swapping the engine into his car so need to worry about the frame.Unless he is changing his mind and going to do silvia conversion. If the engine runs and you can fix it just leave it in that car.

i'd say it is not from an S15 there is this little tiny difference between the s14 and s15, from what i have seen there is this flat looking black pipe that comes from the left side crosses the front of the engine .... i'll post a pic when i get home tonight..

lol.....i just saw this on copart today too. the thing that bugs me, is why would someone with a s14 sr get ride of the car??? or the engine with it? my car was just recently pronounced total and i got 7g for it.(i have a 97)also the damage is really really light, theres more pics and you can see the fmic in the trunk with some dents. this further makes this car seem fishy.

You need to get a pic of the intake manifold from close up to see what sensors are in place as well as the injectors. Otherwise if its cheap, you can fix most anything with that motor that is broken... I would look at the block to see if any rods were thrown.

As for the car being abandoned with SR in it, maybe the guy who owned it went to jail for the accident or died in the accident?

I agree but you can't knock some one because they are getting an SR they can be pretty damn fast and they respond when done properly pretty dam@ well to MODS.
