What is the switch next to the VCD button?

There is a toggle switch next to the VCD button that is numbered 0 - 3. I cannot figure out what it does? Can anyone help me out, or do I have to read the owners manual?

Raises and lowers the headlights aim. Unless you tried it at night, you would not realize its function.

Use 0 for normal, and the other settings if you have a serious load in the trunk that causes the front of the car to rise up.

It is automatic in the new M, but manual in the 2003 and 2004.
