hey I changed the tps sensor on my car a while ago and set it at the factory specs and ever since I have had a bad idle but the thing that really sucks is that the rpms are w ay off!! for instance, at 50mph in 4th gear I am at 3k rpm it used to be like 2.5 k and at around 55 mph it would be at 3k not 50mph! and at 70 mph it is dead on 3k and it used to be 2.5k what is going on!! its driving me crazy! I have set timing to factory specs new tps to factory specs cleaned the iacv, and changed both coolant sensors, I am at a total loss of what it could be execpt mabye the ecu itself! I can stop the low/poor idle by taking the tps all the way to the end but it still has crazy rpm stuff! any info would be great! thanks

At 70mph in 5th, my tach reads almost exactly 3000.

I don't think your problem is TPS related.

my car is at 3 grand at 70mph as well.. I really wouldn't worry about it tooo much if its running fine with no serious problems your fine, gotta remmeber s13's are old cars, sometimes they will act funny.. mostly it all depends on the weatehr outside.

what rpms you run at a particular speed has nothing to do with your TPS, its all dependent on your gearing. Running a higher geared rear end would up your rpms at a particular speed, say if you went from the stock 4.083 rear end to a 4.2 or 4.4. the opposite is true for a lower geared rear end, the one i am planning on has a 3.96 ratio, which is about a 4% difference from stock.

cool, I guess there is nothing wrong then! I didnt really take my 240 up to 70mph that often before I changed the tps but it looks like its normal for it to be at 3k! seems a little high but who cares
