What is the Proper Break-In for a G motor?

I think it is 1400 miles and keep the motor under 4k rpms (Should I keep it this way for over 2 or 3k miles?)

Don't drive at a constant speed.

When would you guys change your oil?

I plan on changing it with Dino oil at 1k miles, at 2k miles, and at 3k miles.

But when I change it at 3k miles I think I am going to go with Royal Purple.

Help me out guys...

Search the forum...but my recomendation is:

-keep it under 4k until the first oil change.-don't use cruise control for long periods of time until the first oil change.-change the oil between 800-1200 miles, drive normal. (doesn't have to be synthetic)-change the oil again at 2-3k with full synthetic.

Not all G35's, but engine break-in procedures are not really model/engine dependent.

I think I would wait until about 2 k and then change the oil. I went to 3500 and then had it done for free. But then changing it earlier doesn't hurt anything.

I would keep the speed and rpms down until about 3-4 k miles and then drive normally. Don't drive at constant speeds. Easy on the brakes for about 1 k.

I would do it between 800-1200 miles to get any metal shavings out of the oil. There is also assembly lube that should get flushed.
