What is the plate on the lower front control arm for? Its the one right behind were the tension rod bolts to the control arm.

I'm guessing its so if you get in a really bad wreck, so that the tension rod doesn't come flying into the seating capacity, but thats my best guess.

I'm wondering because I just cut it off because my coilover was adjusted so low i was hiting it.

Prolly a bad idea, but what ev. Thanks in advance.

That still happens when drifting, binding at full lock. This is why MA Motorsports came up with a solution for this by welding a support as shown here on mine. This weld prevents binding at full lock and the uneven bending of the stops under load.

Yeah my tension rods were hitting the lip and I couln't get them back into place when I replaced the control arms and tension rods. So I removed it. Meh I'll see how it works.

I know that powered by max has a steering angle kit that has you remove them, as well as install brackets for mega steering angle.
