What is the piece in front of the radiator that looks very much like a radiator?

I'm in the process of changing my radiator and thermostat on my 1995 240sx sr20det, and i am still getting familiar with the car and i'd like to know, what is that part right in front of the stock radiator that's a very similar size to it but has only small metal tubes coming out, and no cap? And i'm not talking about the intercooler. At first glance this thing looked like another radiator. Is it a stock piece? Is it important that i leave it in front, and the radiator in back? Thanks.

That's your AC condenser.

Important to leave it alone if you're keeping AC.

Go to Texas in the summer and say that. 104 deg. in the shade................................ 120 deg. in your car. You will sweat your a$$ off in a flash. Even worse if you have leather seats.

Haha i'll leave the ac in. As much power as the car is making, i don't think a few extra pounds is going to make or break it. It's not a race car. Air flow to the radiator is a more serious consideration, but it should be fine with the new Koyo rad. and Nismo t-stat i'm installing so i'll leave well enough alone for now.

I used to think the same thing. But after having spent two summers in Iraq and one more on the way, Texas aint so hot......lol Try 140 in the shade.......
