what is the max you can bore the ka24de

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

i'm having to rebuild my ka24de and i was wondering what is the max i can bore the cylinders out to before i run in to problems. i would greatly appreciate anyone's help

From what I've read the most you can do is a .05 overbore, but good luck finding pistons for that, most after market pistons don't go higher than a .02 over. Do a search or ask one of the guys on the KA-T board.

Boring cylinders realy doesn't do much four you with a for cylinder expept limiting the amount of rebuilds and increasing the risk of blowing your engine. It also makes your engine run hotter since there is less metal to disapate heat. I would only bore if the cylinder is out of spec.

.020 over is common, .040 is fine but less common (what I have), and .060 can be done but not recommended... I think CP makes all 3 piston sizes.

Unless your machine shop has a KA torque plate, anything more than .020 over is dumb.
