what is the little black box for?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

there is a little black box under the intake in between the fender and the engine bay.... what purpose does it serve?

For your air intake. It has a small hole in the bottom of it, allows air flow but keeps anything else out, like dirt, rocks, mud, etc... That is what the air intake pulls from (notice the hole from the filter box directly to it, and the location...out of the engine bay, where cooler air flows.) That is what I think anyway...

If you are talking about the box the filter sits in its to keep water out of the intake, quite the sound that comes out the intake, and technicaly contain any flames in the event of a strong backfire...

the 240sx was orriginally a drug running car....its for all the coke and the weed...along with the small compartment in the trunk between the trunk lining and the fender...on the opposite side of the oem car jack
