Has any one developed a new ECU? At one time there was one available that would allow a lower oct. fuel with an increase in GM. (gas mileage)

I'm not aware that anyone ever wrote a map for that... I remember some discussion, but I don't think it ever happened. I suspect you could disable your knock sensors and send the OEM ECU into "safe" low-octane mode, as it does when the sensors fail.

The '93 ECU is an easy mod, especially if you only want a single program. I've got a stage 1 program for a '93 ECU. Wes should chime in soon, maybe he will do a single program mod for you. All the NICO ECU's are going through Wes (Elwesso) now.

Not sure about a "lower octane" map tho. If you really want to use low octane fuel and have a stock ECU just use it. It's not going to be any better for the engine if you change the ECU. Maybe if you just back off the timing a little it would like it better. If you ignore the knock sensors you are asking for trouble. The performance maps do that but if you do that when wanting to use low octane fuel you could do some serious damage.

What do you mean by "GM"

I have a 94 Stage II wired with a switch. It says that it's been configured to run 91 octane. I don't fill up with anything less than 92 anyway, so that's not really an issue I guess.
