what is the general drift setup for the 240?

Im not really into the Nissan scene per se but have always admired drifting.I own a 80's classic BMW thats four wheel independent suspension, has coilovers, revalved bilstein shocks and struts, big sway bars, strut bars, and a few other goodies.

What im trying to compare is, what is the general drift setup for your guys cars?

Im in no way bragging but i consider myself a very good driver/racer just to get to the point. i know you cant just use a stock car and haul *** around a corner as fast as a modified suspension etc...

What spring rates are you guys using? im using 520 in front and 380 in back to understeer, which i know is the opposite of what you generally want for drifting/oversteer.

Do you use around 1000 poundage springs in the rear to make the car very controllable? and oversteer?

I know there are so many issues but im trying to compare my car and what i can do to accomplish a drift setup.

ive seen on like the D1GP the cars have NO body roll, and fly around corners, my car can already do that but not sideways, it was built to be a grip driving car.

thanks in advance

first i want to say welcome to NICO!

secondly, there is this huge misconception that drift cars are not built to handle well. that is TOTALLY FALSE! you need a VERY well balanced car to drift. its not about losing traction, its about controlling it and learning how to maneuver on the edge of it.

my cars setup is the same i use for grip driving with the exception of some small damping changes (softer in the back) and tire pressure changes.

basically if you want to build a real drift car you build it to handle well, then just make small adjustments to get the control you need when you are going sideways.

if you used a WAY stiffer spring in the back than the front you would have to much oversteer and traction issues because there is no suspension flex.

Do you have an LSD?if not you could look into getting one or just having your diff welded (much cheaper)

you might also just try and pick up on the basics of drifting and try it with your stock car.
