I want to get a fun, economical, relatively reliable daily driver and was thinking of getting a 91-94 240sx. now that i am looking for 1, i want to know what's the difference between the s13 hatch and coupe? Is it just looks. I think i read that the hatch has better weight distribution and the coupe is lighter. is this true?

THANKS

THE HATCH IS LIGHTER AND HAS MORE EVENLY DISPLACED WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION.

wrong! the coupe is lighter (and rumored to be stiffer too)

coupe weight distribution: 55/45

fastback weight distribution: 53/47

search and find an old thread about this! (like this one:))

One has a trunk lid that's MUCH bigger than the other. Sorry, couldn't resist. Mechanically they're identical so any performance/handling differences, if any, are insignificant. It comes down to looks and whether you want a hatchback or notchback. Personally I prefer the versatility of the hatchback over the more formal looking coupe. That's just me.

coupe you save about 50 pounds, not to bad

and i do think that the coupe is stiffer than the hatch, but it's not a huge difference

go with whatever you think looks better

coupe is more unique

I want to build a Silvia (fullconversion and SR), so I went w/ a coupe. But either one is bad *** (I have driven both). Whichever you find first/cheapest I say get it. That is what I did.

different model specs maybe? like an se coupe vs. a base hatch? I dunno, the weight difference is minimal, but as evidenced by the weight distribution, its there:)
