What is the difference between the 32z motor and transmission vs. the J?

It is possible I will need a new transmission in the near future. I was wondering what was the difference between the two platforms? is it a Pain to swap, can I just use the transmission from a tt for now and then add the motor later? I'd appreciate the input.

the TT transmission is longer im pretty sure, and im not sure if the TT drive shaft will work or not

Thanks for the input. I just got a diagnosis from aamco they say it's not giving any codes and that there is slipping 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and it won't go from third to 4th. Also the torque converter is not locking in. I gotta figure this one out cuz timez are tough right now.
