What is the difference between KA trannies

hey guy im new to Nissan and don't know much about trannies what is the difference between FS5W71B, FS5W71C , and FS5W71A i need to know cuz i just bought a S13 vert and it already has the 5 spd swap in it and i don't know which transmission is in it and i guess there is a difference cuz auto zone asked me which transmission it had so they could get the right seals.

You should be able to find the number on the trans itself which im sure is what your gonna have to do cause who knows what trans was put into your car. I have one at home i can look at to see were the number is at but im at work right now so if i remember when i get home i'll take a look

im pretty sure when i ordered my rebuild kit they said that they were all the same. have him check the part numbers on all the seals and see if they are actually different.

yup all manual trans are the same from 89-98

thanks i went to the Nissan dealer and they said the same thing that all the 5 spd trannies were the same

yeah pretty much all the ka transmission are the same except on the s14 transmission there is one sensor more then the s13

i actually took apart a trans that came out of a 91, and i took one apart that came out of a 95. i was only looking to take the 5th gear shift fork out of it, and it was different. im sure the rest was the same but that was different.
