the last link is 55w bulbs (actually it shows 80 watts) which is too much, could burn up your fog light housing. Those bulbs are not HID bulbs. HID conversion kit usually runs cooler about 35 watts with 2-3 times brighter than stock halogen light. You should get an 3000k, 5000k or 6000k hid conversion kit for your fog lights. 3000k is yellowish color which is common for fog lights and better night driving (you can see the road better). 5000k is pure white and 6000k is whiteish blue. I got 5000k for my fog lights and 6000k for my low beams. You can get a set of Xentec hid conversion kit for $75 shipped off ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...18031Check other hid threads for more info. Hope it helps.

my car came with stock fog lights. all I did was upgraded from halogen bulbs to hid. I think Xentec is a good cheap brand. Those fog lights look nice. just make sure they will fit onto your altima. if you are looking for better night driving, then go for 3000k (yellowish color) bulbs which gives you roughly 3200 lumens output compare to 700-800 lumens for halogen bulbs. That's a big improvement. This is the seller i bought my 6000k xentec

Good luck.

If your car did not come with HID's then I suggest getting a 4300k - 6000k HID kit and simply upgrade your headlights. Adding foglights and putting HIDs in them will not do much for dim lighting other than flooding the road directly in front of the vehicle (eg: no distance)

Let's not discuss fog lights right now. What type of headlights do you have? If they are not HID (Xenon) then that should be your first upgrade.

If you want to see better at night then you will upgrade your factory non-HID headlights to use HID's. For light output, you will want bulbs in the 4300-5000k range. I would not suggest going above 6000k.

Fog lights are NOT driving lights so the only part of the road they add light to is directly in front of the car.

as audtatious has mentioned,

if you want to see better at night, then you need to upgrade your headlight low beam to hid first. in order to get hid, you need to buy the whole hid conversion kit, which includes 2 hid bulbs, 2 ballasts and the wirings. you CANNOT just buy the hid bulbs and plug into stock wirings! you need the whole kit.

watch the video for more info on how to install hid lights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvhDGMUV4pg

If you want to see the best at night, then go with 5000k (3200 lumens output). http://youtube.com/watch?v=mdC...lated Go with low beam first and then decide if you want to add fog lights later.

dude, do you really know what HID is and what it stands for???

Silverstar is 55W halogen bulb - little bit brighter than your stock bulbs. Go ahead and buy whatever fog light kit you like. We already covered the brand of hid kits if you read my previous post.

Installing fog lights is NOT going to help you see better. Sure, in the fog you may see better and you may have a bit more light on the road within 5' of the front bumper but it's not going to do diddly-squat on increasing overall night time driving.

Here is a comparison between HID and Halogen lighting when used for low-beams:

Based on the above, HID gives a whiter/cleaner light and has more distance than standard halogen bulbs. If you want to improve night time visibility, you will upgrade to HID headlights.

Now, foglight vs. headlight:

Foglights have a sort dispersed beam pattern. Headlights have a long beam pattern in order to see down the road:

The yellow section of the image above shows the foglight beam while the white beam is the headlight beam. You can see the foglight simply floods directly in front of the vehicle as all it is trying to do is assist the driver to see the road directly in front of the vehicle incase of fog. It will not help you during regular night time driving, only the headlight will.

If you are going for looks, then go ahead and get the foglights. If you really want to see the road better at night, then upgrade the headlights.

Per the posts above it seems the Xentec's are ok? They do look similar to my kit (which is no longer sold). Just make sure you select the proper kit to match the factory bulbs.

If the fog lights fit then you should be OK I guess. Those are halogen so they need no ballast.

Only if you have a 3.5 with either Sport Plus Package or Leather Sport Package I believe. If not, you have halogen bulbs.
