what is the difference between a 300zx rear end and a j30(gear ratios)

was wondering if it will make any difference changing to a 300zx rear end diferential in the j !!! as my buddy has a 93 300zx in his back yard !!!for parts!!!

I think the 300zx has a lower gear in it. Not sure tho.

They have different output flanges... z32 have 5 evenly spaced, J30 have 3 pairs of 2..

The n/a and turbo z had different gear ratios.

off the top of my head- the j30 has a 3.916 rear vs the turbo z32 3.58 [could be slightly off on the z32]

the j30 is a r200v, whereas the z32 turbo is an r230v.

im pretty sure the n/a z32 is an r200v

the Z32 is 3.69, the Q45 is 3.54

And the n/a Z32 is 4.09:1 ratio and seems that it will drop straight into the J.

The Z32 uses a 5 bolt on the N/A (which is 4.083:1).. The J uses a 6 bolt (3x2) which is more like the 240.

I think only the later J's have the 6 bolt hub. I'll have to look at mine again.

thats right, i got the z32 and g50 backwards.
