Well theres flat black, pearled black, lacquered black all kinds of different black, I think what they mean is which black looks the darkest. Some blacks look blueish, purpleish, etc so there is definitely a difference in blacks. Its not that one is darker it's just what seems/looks darker.

When I asked the same question to a guy who ran a body shop for 30+ years, he told me that -house of kolors- was the only company who sold a "true" black paint with no other colors of shades added
