I'm can't decide on either a 1990 or 1996. 1990 is white with 65k miles for about $11,000 obo and the 96 is black with 37,000 miles for about $15,000. Both stock.. Sorry I'm a noob on these cars. Looking to build more knowledge from these forums... Thanks

if you're looking at a TT in my opinion you will run into more problems with a 96 if you plan on modifications. alot of upgrades are not available for 1996 models because of OBDII. with my experience owning a 96 and seeing the availability of modifications, it would be easiest to go with a 95 and under. there might be a place that sells 96 mods though that i just dont know about.

Generally speaking, if you're looking to buy a used Twin Turbo, your best bet would be a 91-95. 94-95 models are preferred, but tend to be a bit more expensive. There's nothing wrong with 1996 models - but they are the most rare, and because of ECU changes are not as easy to modify. If you're looking for a project, better to stick with a pre-1996 300ZX.

don't listen to those yahoos up there...

both Z's are good buys... $4k difference between the 90 and 96, i'd bargain for the 96 and get it.

btw, these are twin turbos right?

look for leaks, smokes and driving issues for they can be problemsgood luck.

I have one of the first 500 made, and so far no outstanding issues or rust... age is not so much of an issue as how well it was maintained!

It boils down to this, what do you want to do with the car? Are you looking for power, cruising, ability to carry more than 1 person, etc...

Year doesnt matter, it may be harder to find a 96 than a 90-95. Body style does matter, again related to what you want out of the car.

And slicktops are nice, you dont see many of them around. They get quite nasty with a good TT swap!
