I was thinking of getting rid of my hood release and putting an actuator under the hood controlled by a switch that would be on the underside of the hood. I could run a magnet over the hood to operate switch. If actuator malfunctioned i would be in a bind. i guess padlocks would suffice.

why would you even mess with your stock hood release? all u do is pull a latch. it just seems pointless to me, adding extra weight to your car. and when your battery goes dead, your going to think, was this such a smart idea? goodluck trying to jumpstart it, that is, if you can even open your hood.

There are locking hood pins that require a key.

No, really. Why do you want to do this? It's not like any one can just pull your motor real quick and dash for it.

your alarm horn is under the hood. they can connect starter to battery and circumvent any killer relays. you should have a killer relay/immobilizer under the hood because the ones inside car are easy to get. the more layers of security the less likely thief will be successful. the club is useless.
