I just had my 240sx stolen so i am reviewing the security issue. I was thinking of getting a faulty fuse or relay and replacing the good one whenever i left car. I assume it would be pretty successfully in defeating a car thief. Even taking the distributor wire might work. I guess thieves know all these tricks. I have quite a bit of free time and would like to get revenge on car thieves . any suggestions would be appreciated. the more violent the better.

An electrical shocking field? haha, j/k.

Sorry to hear you got your 240 stolen. These things are starting to get stolen more often over the last few years.

One thing you can do is: -relocated battery to trunk so they can cut it from under the hood/fender.-get a backup battery for the siren (like the Viper system has optionally)-put 1 or 2 sirens inside of the car cockpit, under dash, under the driver's seat, behind the rear seat, in one of the interior panels, or somewhere so that it will be a biatch to sit in the car.

There's also an article somewhere about making a custom kill "switch" which is operated by magnetizing relay somewhere, i forgot the site tho.

We had a thread on some intresting and not really legal security ideas, i'll do alil searching for it and post it, mostly humor though woulnd't really apply it or you could get sued lol.

That blown relay idea is pretty clever, if you don't mind popping the hood each time you park. Starter relay and not sure if theres one for the ign system or not haven't really payed attention. Also hidden kill switches under the hood or really anywhere in the car work, the more the better. like broke said piezo sirens in the interior of the car, under the dash you could get custom and stick them inside the headrest. The more attention you can get drawn to your car the better when the alarm sounds. Strobe lights air horns, smoke bombs anything lol. well if i think of anything else or feel like commenting anymore i'll post my ideas.

I really believed the club made you safe. The cop i talked to said it is only as good as steering wheel. He recommended immobilizer. Thanks for the ideas, guys:)

The police called to say my car was recovered minus radio and the ignition was busted. I just go to Mundies towing in south burnaby and pick it up. 120 dollars for towing. i bet icbc negotiated that rate. the car was found in south burnaby. i reported it missing on friday. the bcaa will tow it to langley for me. not sure if i will bother to fix ignition. i assume the steering wheel was not cut. i guess they just pushed the wheel down to get the "club" off. i had the one that went from the wheel to the gas pedal. now i have to find out how much it costs to repair ignition. i have not theft insur..

I was talking to a guy who got his car stolen recently. He had kill switches and they just used a long wire to circumvent everything.

You could just get a cheap alarm that has a starter kill and have the installer hide the hell out of the brain. Nothing compares to leaving a pitbull in the car, but that can begin to smell after a couple times.

i ran an inline switch from the starter so when i leave the car i hit the switch and the starter wont even work. sort of like the fuse relay thing. but the switch completes the circuit...sort of.

You could always pull the wire from your coil to your distributor and put it in your pocket.

This outa help. I wouldn't copy the system exactly since anyone can look at this and route your system. Its a good guide tho:http://www.autospeed.com/cms/a...9&P=1

I really like this immobilizer. I wouldn't use the flashing diode, though. I like the idea that there are no clues as to where the immobilizer is. I bought this immobilizer with a coded key and stuff but it leaves so many clues as to where the the starter has been interrupted. you just have to follow the wires from the key or module.
