Your going to have a hard time finding a turbo kit for around 1,500 that makes a big difference. Might as well save a few G's and a decent kit. But, here is the tricky part; what are you building your car for? I.E. drag racing, drifting, daily driver. These need to put into concederation when looking at what SIZE turbo you are going to get.

I'd start by reading the FAQ in my signature. Forced induction is a really big step, and it doesn't come easy unless you work for it.

Welcome to Nico, read around in here, its the best forum on Nico.

Best of luck and happy boosting!!!!

You can piece together a kit for under 1500, but need to spend 2000 to have quality and no worries, also don't forget about your clutch needed to hold the power...

^ How much does using all the parts from an SR cost? I'm thinking about getting a project KA-T.

A SR20 and a KA24 both have both pro's and con's. Your mission, should you choose to except it, is the do some research and find them out for yourself. I only say that instead of telling you them because if I tell you them I have done you a great injustice. You need to research your own stuff. We can help you with any questions about products and such along the way.

As far as name brand, my opinion is that as long as it isn't ebay its a good brand.

No. Every motor is unique and there is no base rule for which is better. The generally accepted idea is that they are equal.

By SR setup I meant using the SR20DET's injectors, SMIC, and T25 turbo on the KA. Not a full engine swap.

That would make a nice 220whp setup with plenty of torque and zero lag. Just find someone upgrading their SR, and buy a SSAC/OBX/ebay special T2 manifold.

Appetizing. I'm upgrading my SR soon so it will make it that much cheaper too.
