Currently all I have is basketball shoes and some dress shoes. My brother tells me to get some nice and comfortable New Balance. What, in your opinion, is the best shoe for driving?

Always been partial to DC Shoes. I love driving with skate shoes beacause their thin soles make for very good pedal feel. Plus, when I'm done driving, I can go grap my skateboard and bust some mad tricks! :D

Converse all stars are pretty close to what racing shoes are, only without the fire insulation and price. Got mine for like $20.

Driving shoes? ****, on long distance trips I take my shoes OFF, or throw my sandals in the passenger seat. Sure, its illegal, but who's checking?

I agree fully with J Spec, though I love my busted *** black ones, I'm partial to the good pair of red ones I have because they just look so natural down there by the pedals...

The only problem I have with my Converse is when they get wet. Other than that, they're great for pedal feel. It *is* almost like not wearing shoes at all.

I strongly suggest each and every one of you go try some classic style K-Swiss. You'll love 'em for driving.

I gotta agree with most people here. My girlfriend gave me Converse All Stars for Christmas and I love them. My Saucony shoes work well too, but don't beat the All Stars. All shoes suck when wet, but oh well. The handful of times I've backed out of my garage shoeless to wash my car I haven't liked it, maybe it's my high-bridged feet or something but they just aren't flat enough to get a good feel.

Not really. I have a pair of Rob Dyrdek - Ten's. For me they aren't wide at all, but still offer room to move around. Most skaters wear their shoes loose, which might make them look big. Just lace 'em up, and you're good.

edit - I gots the bottom one!

When I race, I wear my worn out Nike running shot on my clutch foot and a wrestling shoe (basically a racing shoe) on my gas foot. I know it sounds weird but I shift like butter when I wear that setup.Normally I wear some running shoes.

Sperry's are great, I wear them from time to time too :) I prefer driving in what I always wear though, my Doc's. If they are annoying me, I just drive barefoot.

I wear wrestling shoes when running the drags. The thin flexible soles give you fantastic feel of the pedals and because they are designed not to rip mats they have nothing hanging out to catch the pedals. When I go out for street fun just sneakers or sometimes barefoot.

Yeah and westling shoes are also cheaper than racing shoes. they are also thin- And as TMS said, they offer unparalleled pedal feel.

A myth! :D In most states, driving in bare-feet is not illegal. Check with the state police where you live, or on their web site.

I agree, driving barefoot is one of the simple pleasures in life!

Only if it's sunny outside though. :)

No driving in your underwear is, very liberating. I have no idea about butt-nekked as I have yet to do that, I'll wait until I'm all old and wrinkled up like a prune.

I picked up converse cause they were so damn cheap. I got the low ones so theyre kinda fugly with shorts on, oh well. All the more reason to wear pants then.

(In reference to linked pic....)Top ones are the best for me. Old Indoor Soccer shoes. They're thin, flexible, comfortable and grip very well.

Bottom left ones are ok. They also pull a double duty as my rock-climbers.

Bottom right are probly the least efficient for hectic pedal-manipulating but seeing as I drive auto for the time being...no biggie. They're big, wide, and extremely comfortable so I'm wearing them most often...

And with a size 13.5 foot, I doubt I'll be doing much heel-toe anytime soon...

anyways, sketcher boots, or crappy tennis shoes, but usually boots...
