I am tring to figure out a way to get my throttle to open up more, and was wondering what purpose it serves as it stops me from making my pedal go down further. I just want to get enough power out of my car to do a burnout from a stop without having to powerbraker. Cause the way it is now I can't get it to spin fast enough to drift without it raining. BTW it is an Automatic that is another reason I can't get it to drift without wet roads in its current status.

Don't I know it. Alas my z31 takes presidence first which is in the process of getting turboed. After I finish that and upgrade it to a t4 with intercooler and Haltec stand alone, the 240 will come into the picture for a rb25/5speed swap if all goes well.

then agian, if I came across the parts to swap to a 5 speed and had the cash around I would do it in a heart beat. 240's are not common in junk yard or the road for that matter in west central Pennsylvania

89 - To answer your question, that button is probably tied to the throttle kickdown (causes your car to downshift at WOT). Without a better description it's hard to tell. Either way, don't mess with it.

You can check for WOT operation by looking at the linkage to the TB. Have someone press the pedal to the floor, and then feel to see if the throttle linkage will go any further by hand (it probably won't).

No offense, but your car is a bit underpowered for "drifting". Probably some good maintenance (tune up) is in order, and these guys can give you all the info on that you'll need. Simple maintenance is certainly not as "hip" as modifications, but the payoff for the investment is often FAR better.

Anand - If I save you $50 (or more) on the shipping, you'll split it with me, right?

E-me later and I'll try to hook you up.

I have done everything I could aside from an oil change which I plan on, and checking the timing which I have my suspisions about being the problem as the car revs up to 2500rpm slowly. Everything else has been done. I have been tempted to try to gut the plenum, how hard is this to do and is it worth it? I herd the eccs is a piece of constrictive crap.

Hmmm - Sounds like it's time to post in one of the tech sections.

Have you cleaned the TB? Injectors tested and flushed? Fuel pump within spec? Cleaned intake?

Good luck 89.

haven't cleaned the TB, never knew you could test and flush injectors, don't know how to check if a fuel pump is within spec. I want to make a custum intake, i cleaned the plastic box thats about it. I posted in their when I first got the car, nobody ever got to the source of the problem with the many suggestion I got. but the way it runs now I wont complain for $500 with 86k on the odo. But can you blame me for wanting more out of it lol.
