Just a thought, if you are going to replace stuff in your bottom end replace the thrust washers for good measure. They are the 2 half moon looking washers on the #3 bearing cap. They do wear out after running on high boost for awhile.

I have a set of Race Engineering (made buy wiseco) 9:1 86mm pistons that are going into my engine when I have the time.

Hey fmf221, do you realize you can't just bore out an SR20 like everyone seems to think you can? You can't just buy an off the shelf 87mm pistons, bore the block, and be done....you bore off the cylinder coatings. Well, i take that back...you CAN bore it and run like that, but it won't last long. These aren't iron blocks as you all know; you can just bore them....such is the burden of superior nissan technology :)

I have 9:1 pistons because it will have a torque increase, better power when I'm off boost, quicker spool-up, more power per psi of boost, and slightly better gas mileage.

say u got a 2.2L stroker kit, but used 9:1 comp pistons

that would give u both increase in torque cuz of the extra displsement and comp ratio right?? (no experience with turboes yet)

so say u did that, would u be able to hit 400rwhp on pump gas still?? or would that be out of the question??

and say u couldnt with pump gas and had alky/water injection, would that make make it possible?? and if so, would the block be able to take it??

and is it possible to just order the jun crank and rods, or toda crank and rods, and buy your own pistons to your specks

Yes.

No water/alchy needed to hit 400hp, even on a stock 2.0L.

And Yes, You can get custom specs on pistons to make a stroker work without boring. (86mm pistons)

LOL no! What you want is to order the crank and rods only. Then go to another company and tell them the specs of the motor so they can make the piston. For example, I go to jun and buy a long stroke crank and stroker rods. Then I measure everything out and check all changes the engine is going through. After I find out all the clearances and measurements, I call up a piston manufacturer like JE or Wiseco and tell them the specs I need for the pistons.
