Ok, I have spent last 1.5 hours scouring through the different posts. Many people talk about the Q45Tech recommended maintenance schedule..

What is this maintenance schedule exactly?

I own two infinities - 93 J30 (123K) and 99 Q45(108K). I want to keep both my infinities for at least 4 more years. Can somebody please point me to the Q45Tech routine maintenance list?

I am driving the Q45 on a daily basis. The J30 is driven around 100-400 miles a month.

Please somebody help me plan out maintenance for my vehicles..

Well, Q45tech doesn't adress the FY33 or the J30 directly.

Mostly, it is keeping fluids fresh every two years or more often if need be. Replacing rubber components as they wear but before they fail. Rotating tires frequently, even if you have to flip them every other time.

The gospel of preventative maintenance is to replace it before it breaks and prevent catastrophic failures which are more expensive to repair.

Yes, your J30 will benefit from an auxiliary ATF cooler.

Every liquid used in a car is much cheaper to replace than the hard parts it lubricates or cools.

Electric motors wear and slow down before they fail, the slow down is obvious and accompanied by an increase in current drawn vs brand new.

Failure to examine all systems every 90 days is just asking for a failure to leave you stranded.

Thanks for the posts guys. You guys contribute so much to this thread.. gives me a lot more courage to purchase and drive these vehicles. Both my vehicle purchases were inspired by the great guys on this forum.

Now to the original topic: I understand replacing the fluids on a yearly basis. I however am not familiar with the rubber components you talk about.. What kind of rubber components you are talking about? Suspension bushings, Engine mounts, brake bushings etc.??

What sort of things should I be inspecting every 90 days? Please give some ideas.

I always try to be pro-active rather than re-active when it comes to preventing issues from happening. I intend to strictly maintain both vehicles, however due to lack of experienced mechanics(with Q45 or J30) for both the vehicles I would like to gain some knowledge myself to point them to things that routinely will require maintenance. I guess reading through threads for weak components is one option.

Thanks for your contribution once again.

Rubber in suspension and subframes, primarily. Many subframe and tension rod bushings are silicon filled. Check for cracking and get them replaced before they leak. Every 90 days when you change your oil and its on the rack.

Annually replace all filters (including the cabin filter). Use compressed air and clean between the condenser and the radiator, blow out the front of your alternator, blow out your sunroof drains. Use Wurth on the rubber you can see and access. Lubricate and clean your sunroof guides with lithium grease. Inspect your bulbs and sockets and wiring.

every time i wash my car i spray out the radiator and condensor (radiator from the engine bay side, condensor from the other side) and it keeps it pretty clean so that I dont have to take it out and do anything extreme...

I would classify as maintaining the rubber hoses in the engine compartment, primarily cooling hoses as more important than the suspension.... In reality, you can live with a worn bushing here and there (not for real long), but it only takes one busted coolant hose and about 5 mins of driving to take your motor out.

Thanks Brian, Dennis(Q4Tech if I got your name correct), Wes (Order of appearance does not mean anything) for your posts. This gives me some idea what to look for. Only problem is I do my oil changes on a wheel ramp. I guess I will just raise each end of the car and take a look underneath while I am there. I know the Q had all the rubber bushings replaced - dealer confirmed it.

J30 is what worries me. The J30 had 60K transmission service done at 97K which is a while ago. Any idea if dealer does a pan drop/filter change ATF service during 60K service?

I am thinking about heading out to the nearest Bgflush shop to get the J30 transmission serviced. Regarding the parts needed for the transmission flush (mechanically exchanging fluid to be correct): should I just call Joe and ask him what I need? I know I will need an atf filter and possibly some bolts for the pan.. right?
