making a logical business decision. the article even says MPV's are high in demand, so why wouldn't nissan want a bigger slice of that pie?

I don't have an issue with Mazda. What's the big deal with Nissan getting a rebadged version of one of their vehicles. :gotme

I also think the Juke is interesting (except for the thing with the headlights). The Murano convertible is terrible.

The shiny happy Mazda face still hasn't grown on me, but I like this interior layout.

my friend has an '05 Mazda 5. Neat little van. Not very spacious, but definitely not claustrophobia inducing.

My mother in law was looking at a 5 back in the fall before they bought their new Sienna. I got to drive it too and was really impressed, especially for the cost, with how much it offers. We considered buying one ourselves but we couldn't sell ourselves on buying a car/minivan to replace a 4x4 SUV. It was a nice car overall, if it would've been replacing the car rather than the SUV, we probably would've bought one. We could have picked up a brand new one, nicely equipped for around $18k.

Now I did also get to drive the Mazdaspeed3 that day too, i'm just glad I couldn't afford another payment, because I would've bought it with no questions asked that day

What's Nissan doing? Uh making money, silly. They're filling a market segment in their home market without spending much in development costs.

As info, rebadging another manufacturers car has been around for decades. I'd be interested to see what Nissan does with the nose. The smiley face grill on the Mazda version (also done by Acura) does not appeal to me.

Considering Nissan's track record with minivans, I'd say this is a good idea. Aside from the Elgrand, which I can only judge by looks alone, Nissan has never build a minivan worth owning. Mazda has made plenty. Let Mazda do the hard work, slap a Hamburger on it, and profit.

I've resigned myself to the fact that the happy face will never grow on me. It's terrible. I'm just happy the new 6 didn't get the full package even after its facelift.

I think what nissan is doing is taking the opertuninty to sell a quality tested car at lower costs then starting their own production line.

What are you doing? You can't build a f*** snow plow and your criticizing one of the larger car manufacturers in the world?
Your not really one to criticize manufacturing or economics, as you understand neither.

The wrong way to do this is the VW Routan, which costs more and has fewer features than the Grand Caravan.

I wouldn't mind an FD RX7 in my garage.... :naughty:

I also developed more of an appreciation for the RX-8 when Greenblurr allowed me to try his out on the autox course at Carlisle. I liked it.

Also, the smiley face on the 5 is horrendous compared to my 3. I don't understand why Mazda decided to put chrome on the front bumper. This isn't the 90's anymore.

I'm a hypocrite for having never owned one, but Miatas are god's gift to motoring.

I've loved every Mazda I've ever owned, even the beaters that eventually died on me. I'm sure they're in heaven.
