i have decided to repaint my 240 Flat Black and i have bought some supplies already, sandpaper...80 grit, and bondo for the atten. i know not to sand to the metal, but sand till there is no shine anymore, and then how do i get rid of the extra sanded shavings left on the sanded area, then is primer needed, when can i apply the primer? project car, just want to try new things...please, all info is helpful!

Please tell me something is genuinly wrong with your paint and youre not doing the flat black cause you saw it on the SCC STi...

Uglyness aside, black is usually not a great color you want to do on your own, it tends to not look as great as other colors because you can see flaws easily with black.

In any case, you'll want to sand at least though the paint, apply light even coats from a couple feet away, and follow the lines of the car.

STi is Kryloned and mondo sexy since a couple months ago. I think it was the September issue.

Dewinged as well, yay!

edit: I've been considering doing this as well cause my paint looks like ***. Damn Nissan paint...

Would spray painting your car have any affect when you are ready to really have it painted?

watch out with flat black...the oils on your hand can leave nasty oil smugges...ive seen it happen to a Lead Sled that was flat black...the oil is really hard to get off. it looks great till you get that all over your finish

Whats needed? About five or six cans of spray paint. And yes, I have done it before. 87 Sentra. Krylon, baby!

If you are going flat black, it doesnt matter how it looks, cause it aint suppose to look great. If it was you would pay someone to paint it, and it wouldnt be flat black or any other flat color.

Really not trying to be a smart a#$. If you are going flat, just do it. Take nice long strokes, and watch for runs. Dont let it run!!!
