I am currently looking for a 240 and found 3(!) in my area that match what i want(a 5 speed). The only problem is all 3 are either 89 or 90's.What i wanna kno is how hard is it to swap a DE in? IS there anything else needed other than the engine? Will the trans work fine? Also i hear that that using the pistons from a SOHC engine are higher compression than the ones in the DE so u can use them in it. Is this true and would it be smart for me to do once i swap out the SOHC for the DE?

What's wrong with the SOHC? There's plenty of aftermarket out there for it, has a better low end, and that miniimal gain from the DOHC is hardly worth the trouble of a whole swap if the engine's fine.

Wiring harness and gauge cluster... from what I understand, the SOHC and the DOHC uses different tach signals.

you need the engine, tach, engine wiring harness, ECU, coil and all the power steering stuff (lines, resevoir)

leave the sohc. Instead of spending money to swap the dohc, piece together a turbo kit
