So, buddy of mine has an sr he's been trying to get rid of and since im in the market I figured i'd try to see what his is worth and work something out with him to get it. Story of the motor - He bought an sr from a kid that got the motor and put it in the car and whomped on it from day one and messed up the piston seat on cylinder #1. The car does crank and run, and he has the new piston seats to go in the motor, what should I offer him for the full swap and how hard would this be to fix hoping that theres no other issues?

Piston Seats eh? :gotme I'm gonna assume you mean rings... If you are gonna replace the rings, you might as well do engine bearings as well and basically overhaul the entire engine, which can be a pretty big undertaking if It's your first time. but all that aside, I wouldn't give him more than $1000 and IMO that's even a little steep without knowing all the history of the motor.

like he said, if its a complete motor set, i would offer him maybe around 500-700... but maybe more if it comes with other extras (fmic, alum radiator, etc)

Yes, I mean rings, sorry. I could overhaul the engine but im honestly not looking too, I dont plan on sliding any events or anything like that, just dd'in and lot slidin here and there. I was thinking about the $600-700 range, but it has s14 cooling and I believe he's throwing the the fmic and things, but im not 100% sure.
