I'm not *positive* on this, but you'd *probably* need a car first.

:D

And lots of tires and a pit crew and a few sponsors and a trailer and a helmet and a firesuit and... Bah, never mind.

Go to the next event in Irwindale - i'll be there, should be pretty cool.

Give it more credit than that.

It is the only drifting organization in the world that sanctions drifting.

No you could not join it. Its like NASCAR if you wish

Any well-prepped RWD car *could* be a good drift ride. The sport is dominated by 240's, but there are several Skylines, Supras, 350Z's and others....

You can drift anything and everything, just a matter of how good you are at controling and shifting the weight with that car. Of course there are a few better cars then others.

Agreed - Seems the 240 is the best platform to start with, although I think I'd like to do an old Celica or a 2nd-gen MR2 turbo.

corollas and 240s are the easiest to learn with probably..but you can always start with a FC or a FD...MR2s a lil harder cus of the Mid range engine but its possible..

Very true, an old AE86 with less power than everything else won the D1 GP in Irwindale

a miata would be cool too, in the same sense that the 86 is a good car, the older miatas can be had pretty cheap too.

there's a bunch at the local auto x and one guy will pull power overs on it from time to time.

there's also a turbocharged one with a neat sounding BOV, kinda scary from a miata...

Anyone can drift. All you need is a RWD car, a DOT-approved helmet, battery tie down, a seat belt, no missing lug nuts, no cracks larger than 3'' on the windshield, brake pads with at least 25% padding and tires with at least 25% tread.

I CAN DRIFT MY RACE KART. ITS YAMAHA POWERED, ANYONE DOWN FOR 18,000 RPM TIRE ROASTS? 80-90MPH 1-INCH FROM THE GROUND? A WHOPPING 25HP? OPEN CHASSIS? FUN STUFF.... I USED TO HAVE PICTURES WITH THE *** END OUT, TWO WHEEL TURNS, TIRE SPINS INTO AND THROUGH TURNS.

WE ALSO MAY BRING IN THE SHIFTER ENGINE..... OHH YEAH 180MPH HERE I COME.

YOU CAN DRIFT ANYTHING REAR WHEEL DRIVEN, CARS, TRACTORS, LAWN MOWERS, SNOW MOBILES, ANYTHING JUST TAKES PRACTICE AND PAITENCE.

FWD DOESN'T DRIFT IT POWERSLIDES. AWD CAN DRIFT BUT IT IS DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF THE HIGHER STABILITY LEVELS AND TRACTION TO BOOT.

I take it you missed the Integra that was drifting at DD8.

Are you serious?

I suppose I will attend if you will be. Then we can get a bunch of NICO idiots and party at Ananananannads house.
