i have had my 6spd sedan for a week now and loving it

i know what an intake does and know what i should pay for an intake but i have been reading posts that ztubes cost about 50

is a ztube just for the soundand if it does make more power howcome i have never heard of one before as my knowledge of cars is more than your average person

Not a dumb question at all.

A "z-tube" is simply the intake tube from a 350Z. It is straighter than the one on the G35 and it has no resonated chambers.

It sounds "meaner" and is supposedly good for a couple HP. Also, allows you to retain the stock airbox, which is the best and safest for your G.

Beware of supposed "cold air intakes" that are poorly engineered, don't filter well, and suck in hot underhood air.

Do the cai's make more power? I'm looking at possibly doing the Ztube/charger combo or an Injen CAI. Which would make the most power?

Any component or group of components that doesn't increase power by at least 10 lb/ft will go unnoticed or unmeasurable [even with a stopwatch] as 10 lb/ft GAIN is necessary to decrease quarter mile time by 0.1 seconds.

Even 5 HP is insignificant as it only occurs over a tiny rpm range thus it cannot gain even 0.05 seconds or 0.5 mph.

The little things add up, do they not?
