The title says it all, is there aftermarket tunes that are available? What is the point of doing that from factory settings. Mine seems to up rev with no problems.

Am I missing something?

Oh what is y51, not sure what it means either.

Thanks Andy

There is a thread discussing this and where to get it, who does it, benefits, etc. if you search for UpRev discussion.

As Rogue says, it's the chasis code.

Y34 = 2003-2004 M
Y50 = 2006-2010 M
Y51 = 2011-2013 M, 2014+ Q70

There are several threads about tuning, if you search the forum (right side of the page) In a nutshell:

There are aftermarket tunes available; one is the Bully Dog Gas GT tuners that have preloaded tunes, supposed to be plug and play. You can get it online and pretty much DIY. I think a couple of members have used it with good results. Uprev is the most common tuner software for the majority of us, as they specialize in Nissan/Infiniti products. If you are knowledgeable enough about tuning you can purchase the Uprev Osiris Tuner package from their website and DIY, or for most of us, purchase the Osiris Standard version and have someone tune your car for you. With that said, most folks don't mess with the factory tune unless they modify their exhaust or intake systems. Most of your bolt on exhaust and intake mods usually don't require a custom tune, but a custom one-off exhaust system or intake mod will probably benefit from it.

Thanks for the replies, just wanted to make sure. I thought it had to do with the paddle shifters and shortening the shift time.
