I'm sorry, but, could someone maybe explain to me what a plenum is? Plenum spacers and plenum manifold and all that. Thanks so much!

I have read it many times before... sorry if I didn't quite get it... it says,

You do not need the spacer to have those other parts, but, it gives you the greatest increase in hp over the other parts. But it definitley makes sense to get the filter and z-tube first before the spacer...or all at once!
What I want to know is how it works and where exactly it's located. I just wanted to have a better understanding rather than, it catches air and leave it at that, that's all. I'm sorry though.

The plenum is the air intake manifold that sits atop the engine (if you've removed the engine cover, it is the giant aluminum piece you see). It basically takes air in one end and splits it up so that all six cyliders get the same amount of air. Plenum spacers are basically gaskets that fit between the two halves of the plenum -- they create a larger space and thus more air can be ingested by then engine, and that makes more HP.

Hope this helps.

Yes it does, thank you, but why do they call it a plenum? I have heard of gaskets, and intake manifolds, but never a plenum manifold. Is there something that makes the two different? Or is it the same exact thing and just not really sure why it's called a plenum?

A plenum is the opposite of a vacuum...positive pressure. I think the difference between an intake manifold and an intake plenum is in the fuel delivery. The manifold combines air and fuel, and the plenum does not (only air). I could be wrong though....anyone else?

That's so much more clearer, thank you so much Joe
