I'm pretty sure Stillen makes you pay for the belt. It is Stillen though, so you're getting what you pay for!2008AltiCoupeDan wrote:the only thing that I could think of that is a belt that is that cheap that is typically a drive belt would be your serpentine belt.
look to the left of the engine bay. if there is deterioration or flakes on the belt that is attatched to your alternator and also the surrounding pulleys or the belt doesnt look quite smooth anymore- then yeah. if the car is an 08 or early 09 or you keep ur car on a lot or w/e- u usually change those out at like 45k miles. 90 bux is typical- if u have a 2.5- get the underdrive pulley and see if stillen still gives a free belt w/ the purchase.this way ur saving money ha!
How many kms/mi on the car? I have 83,000kms now roughly and my belts are in mint condition. I'd push to get it replaced under warranty. That's a bit weird to have the belt wear out the fast assuming to drive way less than I do.jleet wrote:Dealer said my drive belt is starting to break? and It'll cost around 90$, seem right?
true, I got my serpentine belt from Advance Auto parts over the weekend for $39.99. Changed it at 42200 milesdldjros69 wrote:I think its part of the deal. You buy the pulley they give you the belt. Belts are normally 38-42 dollars
It's a breeze to do it yourself, saves $$2008AltiCoupeDan wrote:i was thinking 90 for part + labor. lol my bad.

They are until Jan 31st. Use code "NEWYEAR."2008AltiCoupeDan wrote: on stillens website they are not advertising for a free belt this time, but id still call if ur interested in the pulley. if not- then a new belt is just fine :P

To avoid confusion, Stillen doesn't make an underdrive pulley for the 2.5, just a lighter weight one.2008AltiCoupeDan wrote:if u have a 2.5- get the underdrive pulley and see if stillen still gives a free belt w/ the purchase.
