I'd like to get keyless, do not want to spend a fortune. I have above average skills and experience in electronics and car repair, not at all intimidated by wiring, electronics and electrical systems.

Theft deterrent is not a big issue where I live and work.

So thanks in advance, Drake.

I recently had this installed in my mother in law's van at a very good local car stereo place here in town.

According to the owner, they put dozens of these in every week - $69 installed - and he's found them to be rock solid reliable. I didn't find the range of the remote to be that great, but then again I was just going on hearing the locks because she didn't spend extra to get the parking lights hooked up.

It's available for about $30 on ebay.

If DEI (Viper) makes something basic, I have been very satisfied with their products as well.

Last night I did get AA925 keyless installed, with a relay to open the trunk, park lamp flash, and courtesy light control. I bought a piezo horn to use instead of the car horn, it may be driven directly using a low current output from the module. AA925 cost $25, shipping included from amazon, but it was a real pita to get it ordered, they canceled order twice, shipped wrong item once despite being my telling them the description of what they were shipping was wrong, so basically had to order it 4 times to get one.

Connections are tapped under back seat for park lamps, courtesy lights and trunk release, under console between front seats for door lock relay, and under panel to the left of the brake pedal for power and ignition signal.

The only thing I'd like to improve upon is that all doors unlock using the remote, I'd like to get 2 step unlock working; I used the orange/blue wire for the unlock signal. This system also has starter kill, if I have to move to a high crime area, I'll enable it.

So thanks to those who suggested the system, so far I like it.

Oops, on second glance, all actuators are wired in parallel, it would be a pain to isolate the driver door actuator, so I'm going to leave it where all doors unlock w keyless, use the key if I only want to unlock the driver door.

Have a nice!
