Unless you're planning on having 500+ rwhp, you don't need a 6 puck clutch. For most cars, a 2 or 3 puck is enough.

i was just curious... i don't have a 240 with a manual. I've heard they are fairly rough. But I know a few peeps on different forum with them as daily drivers. I just figured I'd ask here

i've read about them, and some of the people that own them doesn't have insane HP.

not to be an a** or anything but I didn't ask if i needed a 6-puck or should i get one.

but since you bring it up, what is a 2/3 puck clutch like?

uhhh....I dont even know where to begin....a 6 puck clutch is a step up from a street/strip clutch...usually a good choice for someone with 300+hp, or someone who likes a firm, tuff clutch....a step up from that is a 4 puck clutch....that is really hard to drive, and recommended only for drag racing....a 2 or 3 puck clutch...???? Ummm...that would be extremely extremely ruff, full race (if its even an option to get a 2 puck, lol)...Blink....

I've used pucked clutches over the last year in a couple of combinations. First I used an 8 puck with race pressure plate. It was fun at the track, and I was able to drive it on the street, but it was just no fun there. The clutch grabbed waaay too quick and way too hard for a nearly stock 240. It tended to just bog the motor down in daily driving. I've switched to the same disc and a standard pressure plate, but the results are not much better.

My recommendation, go with a continuous surface disc. The ACT street is a good compromise, better than stock, but not so severe as racing. Not to mention the continuous surface disc will last longer. Once you start feathering a puck clutch it will burn up pretty fast.

Agreed. Most people think less pucks means less harsh, but actually the opposite is true (don't feel bad, common mistake). If you think about it, less pucks means the force is distributed over less area, therefore giving you more force on a given area and more pressure overall. (Pressure = Force / Area)

And I can't say that I've ever heard of a 2 puck clutch either ;) physics wouldn't work on that one. Once dragsters start needing that much holding power they move to exotic custom systems.
