Well...I gotta reply! But, the Stillen site is currently sucking...so I can't get all the research done I would like to do. But, I would be heavily looking into 1 or 3. I am a fan of the long intakes, and have been salivating over the Stillen Gen3 intake since I got my G37.

The Injen one (door #3) looks pretty good, too. But, the Gen3 claims 14hp at the wheel...'No other intake for the VQ can match these power gains!'

Does the metal intake have any adverse affects? I don't have any personal experience with intake systems. Just what I read, and as you know, you can't believe everything you read on the internet! They all essentially come from the same company Stillen/Injen...so I guess it would come down to the polished or the gloss black. I might actually go for the Injen one with the gloss black, since I am not a 'show off the underside of my hood' kind of guy. Power is what it's about. Price is basically the same. I think I might have to start drooling over the Injen one now. I like the effects of the long intake, but I am not much for the lack of info on their site. Could be that they are drinking...like I am right now, and forgot to open up their portal to the public. I vote for the Injen one in black! Same price (basically), and good looks, and performance as well. Let us know what you choose!

Well the Injen is different than the Stillen due to the the filter placement. Not sure what I'm going with...

The Stillen intake requires cutting holes for the pipes to go through which may make "going back to stock" more difficult. I hope you can replace/clean the Stillen filters from the top as anything else would be a pain in the butt.

I would stay far away from any filter that uses oil in part of the cleaning servicing process

i just ordered the Gen 3 it says 20 plus torque and 18.5 horse at the wheel and 22 horse at the flywheel sooo um i would go with that dude you should look at the installation guide though im having my dealer do it because you have to cut the air filter holes to wrap the pipes in front of the radiator.

I'm probably going with this intake soon as well. Along with it I may do headers, HFC's and catback at the same time.

Any update Matt, or did you just go with drop in filters?

I'm still undecided...

The Gen 3 Stillen looks the best...but I'm not sure I want a long-tube intake. The short-ram worked great on my G35.

I skipped headers and got the cobb accessport instead. Since the Cobb with Stage 2 likes the factory intake system I threw in some K&N's. The Invidia HFC's and catback are here, I just have to get time to install them.

Nice. I like the rolled tip of the Invidia vs. the "big pipe look".

I ordered the Stillen Gen 2, didn't want any cutting or drilling on my new G37. I should have it on Thursday and will do the install on the weekend.

When you are ready, let me know. I can get you both items and would love some feedback on the HKS for the future, since it is a new item.

okay peeps, now I am really confused. Out of these three options, they are all different. What is the best option? Do either of you have these on your cars? Joe, I see you have almost the same care as me, which one are you going to buy or did you buy?

The stillen Gen 2 is essentially the same as the Injen Short Ram I have listed on my site. Bottom line, most intakes all achieve about the same results in the long run. The question is how much do you want to spend? I will guarantee a better price than what I have listed online for any of my intakes.

I see you are considering all dry filters this time Joe..

So you need to decide between short ram and Injen. But the Injen tubing is metal so you may get heatsoak ...no??

6Decisions decisions...lol. I'll be close behind you shortly...I'm getting the itch BIGTIME!!!

LOL...sorry for the threadjack OP...welcome to NICO!!

If going long tube I would only consider the Stillen Gen 3, although you do have to cut the airbox intake areas for it.

Yes, looking to go with a dry-type filter. Don't want to cut into the airbox...so Stillen is out.

Heard good things about the R2C...probably getting this one.
