to free up some flowand prep for future mods. i'm getting a new piece of pipe put in the place of the rear 90 degree bend too because stock is flatened and restrictive. plus with the cat being 13 years old it's probably pretty clogged up. the car is fed spec so will the emission o2 throw my ecu off that i need a simulator?

All im saying is there are minimal gains from removing cat. And why get a piece made? Why not replace the y pipe? That would give you more of a gain then removing the cat would.

I agree completely Kzoosho ypipe is the way to go if you think your cat has problems get a highflow.

Unless its clogged it actually isn't all that restrictive, the high flow cats don't really flow that much more really... but, with the current rate that cats are selling for...

i just want to do a straight pipe instead of the cat and want to know if it'll mess my eng performance up by throwing off the emission o2...why do i want to get rid of the cat? because i'm trying to speed up the next ice age love driving in snow. but seriously i don't care bout the environment, emissions etc. i don't like cats because that's just some extra stuff on the car that doesn't need to be there and i like everything simple.

the straight pipe aka test pipe instead of the cat? might just make it a little louder, won't sound like a fart can because the cat doesn't muffle a whole lot.

btw it's legal in montana not to have one.

Actually, you could (and probably will) lose power. The loss of back pressure on the system will cause you to lose acceleration.
