I have a 2004 G35 sedan with a 6 speed manual, the power is nice but since im used to it i want more power.

Theres 260 horsepower in the car right now, is there a way to get it close to 300 or over without installing a supercharger/turbo?

Any suggestions?

How about twin turbo? For starters, you can get intake, plenum spacer, exhaust, tune, etc...

Buy some test pipes... Only if legal in your state!

I would start with a Motordyne Plenum spacer. Get an intake. Test pipes or HFC. Then a Cat-back exhaust. The motordyne exhaust is awesome. Save up for it if you don't have the $$ lyin' around. You'll be happy with it.

Flywheel/Clutch combo and Lightweight pulleys are also a good option to free up a little extra power in weight and have faster revs.

vk56 engine swap :D

intake, plenum/manifold mod, headers, y pipe, exhaust. that will set you to 305-315

These engines are tuned from the factory so there isn't much "free HP" in mods. To get 300, you'll need to do intake/exhaust mods...and thats for 300 at the flywheel, not the rear wheels. To get 300+ RWHP, some form of FI will be needed.

Since you have an 04, your engine is a "non-revup" style engine, you should start with a Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer, short ram intake (either JWT or Stillen) and a Z-tube. For the exhaust, replace your Y-pipe with the G35 coupe or FX35 Y-pipe. Stillen makes an exhaust, but I think it's only the rear section.

Those mods will get you close, but you will still be under 300 (probably around 280-290).

I think the real answer is always the same one.

Horsepower costs money, how much do you want to spend?

Any increase you make in horsepower/torque is going to cost you twofold, one to get the part you desire, the other to pay for it on an ongoing basis via decreased mileage.

If you have another car, drive it steady for about 5-6 weeks and then get back in your G, you will be amazed at how quick your car actually is. As you stated, you have gotten used to the power level and no longer find it entertaining now. So now you want more and that takes you back to my statement in bold.

I get better gas mileage now than I did before...when I'm not flooring it. I got 27 mpg from SLC to PHX.

HP does come at a cost though...

Intake - $200 newPlenum Spacer $200-260 newHFC - $300-600 new (depending on brand)Exhaust - $900-1500 (for the best ones MD/STILLEN/BORLA)

that is a pretty good start...

It's funny. Any car I've ever had (4 car so far), I always told myself that it would be enough power.

1. 1989 Probe LX 2.2L 110HP/130 lb-ft/torque2. 1989 Ford Probe GT 2.2T 145HP/190 lb-ft/torque3. 1999 Nissan Maxima SE-L 5 Speed 190HP/205 lb-ft/torque

and now this 2003 G35 6MT, and it's never enough power.

I am definitely in love with my black beauty though.
