Bugs!

Almost a bullseye on the the hamburger!

That's one day/night worth of impacts. Keep in mind that 60-70% of my driving is at night, so I get plenty of exposure to the little guys and they're usually gunning straight for my headlights. I had a windshield strike the other night that had a wet, meaty thud to it...at first I thought I might have hit a wayward bat, but based on the size of the splatter I'm guessing it was a Luna Moth.

Yeah bugs can be annoying.

But freshly laid asphalt falls higher on the list. :gotme

It's also usually easy to plan for and avoid. :yesnod

The bugs...well, I've never seen signs alerting me to them. ;)

My big flat faced F250 seem to be a good display for entomology...

One of the saddest, and yet funniest, things I've seen was a robin stuck in the grill of an Escalade like a grasshopper or butterfly would have been on an average car.

What I hate about summer......

Lawnmowers and weed eaters throwing rocks and a-holes blowing grass and dirt into the street

Also I hate bees and wasps flying in the window. I have deserted a vehicle before when a bee as big as my fist decided he wanted to fly in my car and ride with me. :ohno:

I despise people that don't have the social conscience to mow the street-side strip of lawn so the grass blows into their yard and not the street. I've seen people leafblowing that just shoot that crap out in the street...cretins!

And one of the worst bee stings I ever had was a honeybee getting sucked into my window and driven into my ear. I think every bit of venom he had got pushed in.

Ugh! That sounds like my commute when I lived in Chicago, 45 minutes to go 20 miles in the morning (5am-ish) and if I wasn't out of the office and on the road by 3pm it was 90 minutes home.

WTF? A warning for 3mph? That's insane! I certainly be going to court for an actual ticket in the 3mph range...can't imagine it holding up as long as the judge wasn't a total hardass.

On a sidenote, enjoy working second shift! Some of the best times in my working life I can remember were when I was working seconds...get off work and go out for a bite and beer just when places were starting to liven up!

well thats cause i work in the hamptons the cops there are crazy and most cop cars are plain chargers.

i totally agree with the 2nd shift
im deff not a morning person so i would never be able to get up. but also every job i worked was usually at night.
i was a cook for a country club for a few years i usually worked 12pm- 1am worked in a 711 3-11(yes white people work in 711's crazy right) and now i work at a building supply sore that has like 30 locations on long island and rhode island it closes at 6 so after that its pretty much a free for all night crew people are deff more relax and know how to have a good time and theres no one around so we blast the music and bs about what ever. and i basically put s*** on a shelf and get paid way to much to do it and i get a raise soon lol i would feel bad taking the money if it wasent so far lol.
all so when we are open there are some weird a** people in the hamptons i wish i could record them and the stupid s*** they ask
