I'm very tired of the stock horn being WAY to quiet and no one noticing it when they're drifting into my lane on the highway or pulling out in front of me from their driveways. The stock horn is more like, "excuse me sir, but I believe you've made an error, please rectify it," and not enough, "f***, YOU SUCK AT DRIVING, GET THE f*** OUT OF MY WAY YOU GODDAMNED DOUCHNOZZEL!"
The horn on my T/A could wake the dead, and I'd really like something that awesome on my little, seemingly hard to see car.

So, I'm toying with the idea of loud horns.
AHOOGA! might be pretty entertaining and loud coming from a Miata.

What are some horns on vehicles that you've had or have heard that mean business that could be easily connected and cheap to purchase?
Sorry, no air horns. I'm not taking up trunk space with a compressor and I do not want to fail state inspection for installing one.

The one for my sentra was the same, sort of a road-runner meep-meep, but then I got the horns off an early 90's chevy somethin or other and had to upgrade the wiring a little. Now nobody knows it's my car that's honking because the sound is out of place. I'm right back where I started! :(

+1. If train air horns are not an option, then the ahooga would be a good choice, followed by la cucaracha.

Train horns are the only one worth investing in. Seriously, they're hilarious. It'd be even funnier in a Miata.

Otherwise, just snatch one from a junkyard. Usually truck ones are pretty loud.

I bought 8 pairs of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PC-BLACK-SUPER ... 8c&vxp=mtr

Put them on all of our classics, and I'll be putting a pair on my MSM.

They're obnoxiously loud, and don't really sound like a stock horn (so there's that extra "WTF" factor.) :)

Those seem perfect! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll pick up a pair of those- especially since installation seems really simple.

I might still get an AHOOGA horn to wire up separately for s*** and giggles since they don't cost all too much.

But seriously, some buicks come with quad tone horns. My friend grabbed a set from a junkyard for his NB. Its hilarious hearing that coming out of a little miata.

Ray I might need to do the same thing. Driving home last night, every d!ck wad and his brother was pulling the "Rhody Road Block" tactic, along with pulling out in front of me, hitting the brakes, etc.

I have my BOV on the left side of my car, so when I pass someone on the right and shift when I'm right next to them, I give a pretty big "f*** YOU", but it would be nice to have the option of sending that message before trying to pass them.

I'm installing a set on my MSM this weekend.

Every douchenozzle flat-brimmed bro-trucker with financed tires and a Metal Mulisha sticker seems to miss seeing me in their amateur-adjusted rear view mirrors. Time to wake 'em up.

Sounds like that major a-hole with the truck who pulled out in front of me (without anyone else behind me) JUST TO GO TWO DRIVEWAYS UP! And then tried to block both lanes while I yelled "GO f*** YOURSELF" on the way to your family home.

I don't honk anymore unless its to avoid an accident. People in Phoenix have serious road rage problems and we all have guns. I'm normally going fast so rarely get cut off. I have enough power to exploit even the smallest of gaps in traffic so the Randy Roadblocker get passed the second a Jaguar sized whole opens in traffic

Oh man, I forgot about how ridiculous the horns off a early 90's century are...and cheap.

How do those compare to the Hella Supertones? They look similar in design and have the same decibel rating...I feel like my Supertones go unheard. Maybe Baltimore County drivers are on too much drugs to notice sounds. *shrug*

I used to have these on my 240sx:

Stebel Magnum TM80. Pretty much like old 80's Cadillac horns.
