i got the arp head studs.

i read that many people have had leaking issues with the cometic gasket.

are there other brands that work better?

what is the oem thickenss? i plan to get the 89.5mm bore because its stock internals. ive read its better go up .5-1mm on the bore, i think it seals better.

Not sure on diameter of the bore. I think I used .5mm larger on my gasket and I have stock bore.

You can use a Fel-Pro for upwards of 500hp, especially if you are using studs. That's a big part of it right there. Been done a few times with no issues.

I personally used an .078" or almost 2mm thick Cometic gasket on my motor. Stock head and block surfaces. Verified straight by machinist. I also used ARP stutds.

This is what I've done, and seen in person. Take it for what you will. I've also ran 28psi out of a GT30 with no issues on motor with 12k on it since rebuild.

well, what do you reccomend i do? . i got the studs, and i plan to beat the **** out of it. i just didnt know if there was a better MLS HG. the car will probably start with less than 250hp, but i what to have room to grow and also beat it daily.

felpro or2mm cometic with a bock deck and head shave.

I started tightening my head studs in like 15 ft lb increments. After I hit 60, I backed it off all the way around, in reverse, in like 1/4 turn increments. Then I went all the way back to whatever was recommended. I think JGS or JGY has some good torque specs around here.

But I broke down whatever those steps were, and cut them in half. So it took me literally an hour to tighten down my head. Just wanted to make sure it was even all the way across the head.

arp studs say to torque to 60ftlbs, i would go in steps to torque to 70ftlbs, seems most people have problems with just torquing to 60, leaking issues, we torqued my friends ka-t with cometic hg and arp studs to 70, no leaks.

noted, i was planning to go like 5 lbs over.

im favoring a good block deck, heads have and over torque on the comentic.

ill order it in a few days, give it some time to sink in, and allow other comments.

I have a ACT Xtreme pressure plate, with Street disc and love it. 350whp daily, no slipping at all. Have had it for about 10,000 miles so far. Very streetable, and should be able to hold over 400tq. That's what I would recommend.

i know the main bearings come in a set, and the rods have individual sizes (or vice versa)

someone help point me in the direction some good bearings. someone suggested clevett for the mains but i dont know where they are the cheapest.
