Not in the Versa, but have hit a moose.
Quite a few years ago, I worked as a travelling disc jockey. While travelling in Newfoundland late at night on the way to another small town, we spied a moose trotting down the shoulder of the highway. This is not an unusual occuence there - and we had had many close encounters with moose on the roads before. My buddy slowed the cargo van down and pulled over onto the other side of the deserted highway to give it a wide berth. As we came up beside it, going about 50km/h (30mph), it suddenly darted in front of us to cross the highway. We hit it right in the arse end, came to a halt and watched it scamper off into the woods. Upon checking the damage (rental van BTW) to the front end which consisted of a dented in steel bumper, smashed plastic grill and large divot in the hood, we also found that the moose had lost control of its bowels in the collision and there was moose crap on the front of the vehicle and into the engine compartment, mostly on the rad. It was starting to cook and if there is a more foul smelling substance than moose crap, I don't know what it is. We attemped to scrape off most of it with sticks and pried/hammered at the hood with the tire iron so that it could latch again and got underway again. We still had about an hour's drive left to get to our destination in Gander and the stench coming off the front end got worse as the engine and rad heated up again. We literally spent most of the drive with our heads out the windows like dogs to catch the fresh air in order to keep from gagging. Parked it that night and pressure washed it off in the morning first thing.
