Wow, Costco does sell an EX! Sorry for the delay in replying Googleman.
Costco sells the insurance as a middleman I guess. The insurance company that covers California is different than one that covers other states for some reason.
Here are some highlights:
Basic exclusions include normal maintenance/wear and tear items (oil change, brakes, tires)
Deductible is $100 per covered repair (I think there was another deductible option too)
Includes roadside assistance and towing (I thought about dropping AAA but still debating)
Rental of up to $35/day is covered up to 10 days
Travel interruption coverage (up to $75/day or $375/occurrence)
Also transferable to the new owner if you pay $40 transfer fee
Cancel first 60 days, full refund
If cancel other times, they prorate the refund amount
Payment is pretty flexible - I downed 10% first month, then the rest is spread over the next 18 months, 0% interest.
They quote their prices based on your current mileage. My car was about 32,500 miles at the time so I'm paying $2217 for 6 years, 60,000 miles. How does that compare to the regular manufacturer's extended warranty cost and coverage, anyone know? I asked my service adviser the last time I was there about it (right when it was about to expire) but he didn't really pay attention to my question so it was a loss for them since I ended up buying it through Costco.
I can give you a copy of the actual terms and conditions but can't seem to find an attach button on here.
