the only thing i raced was another versa with cvt and i have a 6spd and i smoked it. haha

i also raced my friends scion tC but he has lots done to it...so i obviously got smoked..i mean a stock one could smoke me.haha

I have a feeling that you are being played here.

I have to doubt some of the cars people have beat with the Versa. The other car had to really screw up or they didnt know you were racing them.

The list (keep in mind this is on an autocross course, drag racing in this car is like the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded)

pwned:1998 Mustang GT (stock, it's all about the driver baby)1990 Civic Hatch (d15, shocks and springs)1996 Civic coupe (d16 vtec, cai, catback)2007 Fit sport (stock, the best part was he was talking smack all day until he saw my time)mazda 3 hatch (looked lowered, I never talked to the guy)03 Altima 2.5s (it was close but I edged him out by about half a second)

Those that pwned me:06 corvette (duh!)Lotus elise (double duh!!)A couple of ls1 camaros99 civic Si (no where near stock)s13 240sx w/ an sr (it used to be my car until I sold it to my buddy, but he only beat me by 1.5 secs.)

I'm sure there were more cars that's just all I can remember. I've seen most of these guys run before and knew a few of them long before i got the V. These are just the ones that I paid closee attention too cause their times were pretty close to mine. Some of them were in my class and some weren't, I run in STS because of my springs but I wouldn't have it any other way.

That is funny, justmerging!! Clipsed: Not to worry!! Age and experience will cure gullibility. I do believe that the six-speed will get the jump on the CVT. So what really happened to Oprah and Michael?

(What I'm wondering is how many on this thread are complaining about poor mileage and/or brakes? I haven't tried to "beat" anyone and I'm averaging 32mpg after 20,000 miles.)

Where I am from street racing is illegal as I expect it is in most civilized areas. This thread sounds so so juvenile that it is hard to comprehend any mature adult making a contribution to the topic. You are not a good driver if you are looking to race the next car at the light. You are just plain and simple STUPID.

not all races take place in the middle of busy streets there are tracks and completely isolated roads that are safer but still not completely safe to race on

This is true. Although I choose not to race on the streets, here in Houston there are back streets that are well known for racing. These streets are unoccupied, dead ends that aren't used, or unused industrial parks. Heck there's a street behind my community that's known as the street you learn to do wheelies on. There's someone practicing every weekend. Cops tend to turn a blind eye to these areas because normally no one's being bothered, crowds are small and well organized. On the other hand streets like Westhiemer, which is a 8-10 lane street know for Fri-Sun night races, are policed very heavily all the time. I raced for unsafely/safely years and gave it up when I got married. I guess you can say that there's ways to break the law safely

For the record I defended the versa's brakes and I average 33 mpg including days at autocross (I usually get about 27-28 at the track, it's a short course so I don't use that much gas)

And also, there are those of us who do race legally ( I also quit street racing when I got married), does that mean that we suck at driving too because I used to street race, I think not. One should not make generalizations in a thread such as this.

P.S. I also think street racers are making a bad name for those that actually take racing where it belongs, on a track.

Naw, you won't get flack. I know all of the was wrong since it wasn't done on the track but just being honest here. I stay in the country with wide open backroads and highways, & that's where all of this was done at.

Also, I am very skeptical about the outcomes, but since I actually know the drivers of some of these vehicles, and was able to do more than one run, I know the outcomes are real. Talked to one of the Service Managers at the dealership about how fast the Versa is, and he said it's because of the gearing in the CVT (but falls on it's face after 110mph stock but can get 125mph)

I've beaten (IN STOCK TRIM) with the CVT transmission....

2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 (my boy) (walked down low and up top on the hwy)2002-2005? BMW X5 (35-45 roll til 100: Him starting 2 car lead, me ending 2 cars ahead) 1997-1999 Nisssan Maxima SE (smoked down low and up top)2006-7 Toyota 4 Runner (down low)2005-7 Chrysler 300C or SRT8 (I saw SRT-8 badging & stock 20" wheels, but doesn't make sense for a Versa to beat that on the hwy & tie from a dig eventhough I used to have a 300C lol) 2005-2006 Chevy Silverado SS (60-105 roll me up 1/2 car) 2004 Acura Legend Sedan (down low til 110 me up 3-4 bus lengths lol) 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS? (non-turbo w/intake & exhaust) (down low til 90 or so me up 2-4 cars)2005-2006 Honda Accord Sedan 4 cylinder (from a dig & killed the Honda)2005-2006 Cadillac Deville (dig & hwy walked him bad)2005-2006 Audi 1.8T (hwy & SMOKED him)2006-7 Nissan 350Z Roadster (down low to about 80-85 near the dealership--salesman was driving it trying to catch me and he couldn't LOL)

A few other rides, I can't remember. The Versa must have a higher trap speed than we know about at least in the CVT.

Does anyone know what the Versa actually traps with the CVT? I know all the car mag sites & such have the Versa's performance TBA since the orginial figures don't match what the car does once the engine is broken in.

I'm planning to head to the track soon, hopefully before my CAI gets here so I can see what she can trap stock. And it'll be fun to get smoked at the track too lol!

haha, gurantee that would not have happened with me! I will take you in my 01 GT Vert!!!

This thread I find that people over exaggerate in this thread, and kind of just ignore it. This is a little retarded how some of these cars are quite a bit more powerful than the V and you guys claim to have beat them. Did the other guy know you were actually racing or did he just step on it for a second and let you go because he didnt want a ticket like you!???
