when stock maf is maxed out, ecu will just start dumping fuel. couldnt say what happens to timing as i dont have an obd scanner.............maybe someone else can clarify the timing issue.

Excessive amounts of fuel is what I thought due to the nasty afrs I saw on the dyno. Thanks everyone.

on my turbo it was hitting 5 volts at about 27-29psi

i was having a very minor spark issue which only let me make 521rwhp at the time. if the spark was fine then i prolly would have made 540-550rwhp

Is it about the same for the N60 Maxima MAFS?

im not too sure if the timing was changine when the maf was getting maxed out, if anything i would say it would retard it

either way its not the best to constantly run a maxed out maf sensor, just time to upgrade

If I remember correctly the N60 MAF is calibrated to read up to around 250WHP, same as the SR or KA stock MAFs. It's just 3" big

why is everyone thinking that maxing out a mafs will add fuel?

its actually the opposite. lets say you are at 5 volts airflow at 12 psi on a stock mafs. then you turn up the boost to 15 psi and it still only reads 5 volts airflow (since its capped). well the computer maintains the same fueling as before but in reality you have more air now (from upping the boost). so what does that get you?....leaner afrs.

Unless the ECU has some fail safe system above a certain MAF voltage (near the max designed output). I don't believe it would flood with gas but most likely cut spark or gas, as the speed limiter does. At least that's what I would have designed

I recently dynoed over the weekend and noticed that at 8.5/9psi at 261.49hp and 223.3 tq my afr's were pretty smooth, but at 12/13 psi at 287.86 and 282.45 my afr's never went leaner than about 11.8 but dipped down towards 10 high 9's. My afr bounced like this 3 times from 4000 to 6500rpms. I feel this was caused by the stock maf, what does everyone else think. It's not a tuning error on my behalf.

These runs were made with a Pulsar GTI-R t28 larger than the S15 t28 just not bb. These numbers were made on the stock maf, z32 maf should be in by Friday.
