What happens when it's time for body work or paint repair w/ self healing paint?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I was wondering what happens when you need body repair or a paint touch-up on the EX. The new self healing paint is like a gel. Can body shops replace the damaged section with the same paint? My guess is no?

I would only take it to an Infiniti dealer who has readily access to the right clearcoat. The actual paint is nothing special, it is the resin clearcoat that they have to use.
