What happens if I get caught with non-DOT approved lighting?

and I think I may pick up a pair of the Osram Silverstars. They only cost $30 + shipping. What would be the downfall to approaching drivers if I use these bulbs? Any whiile I'm asking questiogns, who the hell is DOT? and Who gives em the right to apporve or diss-approve of anything?

They will lock you up in a 4 X 4 X 6 room and poke you with sharp instruments.

sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't . The sharp instruments I can take, the room is another isue.

I'm using the Sylvaina silverstars in my maxima. They work well. I really haven't seen to many people get pulled over for blue tinted headlights or non dot approved lights.

actually ya my guess would be it would be like seatbelts, its okay until you get pulled over for something else, but as you do then they would cite you for them...

lighting is non moving violation so its not too bad. Think the most you would ever get is a fix it ticket at the worst, if you ever get pulled over.
